How to describe me?

Photographer, creative-type, marketer and mother just about covers it.

I'm based in the rolling countryside of West Oxfordshire and living the rural dream baby!

Dennis the Campervan

So, finally he’s here. The other bit of ‘camping gear’ to go with the bell tent…!

Sadly, the shocking British weather has prevented a more detailed photo shoot as yet but we honestly couldn’t be more excited. Dennis is a 1974 vintage VW Type 2 Bay window campervan who has been lovingly restored by our good friends at G’Day Kombis. He hails from Australia so is that holy grail of the camper van world, ie. a bus without rust. He’s painted in a custom blue colour (chosen by me after a wild ride down to a classic car restorer’s garage with Billy G’Day) with a pastel white top half and a scarlet and cream thing going on inside, with striped seats and polka dot curtains.

We’d been hankering after our own campervan for a while after we spent a brilliant week last summer in Daisy, hired from The Boutique Campervan Co in Goring. So, in what many would regard as a rashly reckless move, we finally took the plunge and invested a wodge of our house deposit money in Dennis - well if all goes wrong, we can always live in him…

Anyway, our first ‘proper’ trip away is coming up soon but already Dennis has proved himself to be a very useful companion at this weekend’s birthday party - who knew you could fit so much party food into one vehicle? He’s great fun to drive, we’ve had nothing but ELO on the stereo all week (Mr Blue Sky anyone?) and massive smiles on all our faces for seven straight days.

Roll on the (proper) summer!
